Anti-Seize &
Lubricant Coatings
Pre-applied lubrication for easier assembly, controlled friction and serviceable threaded joints.
APET can apply anti-seize and lubricant coatings to customer-supplied fasteners and threaded components where reduced friction, galling resistance, smoother assembly and future serviceability are required, subject to the selected material and application.
Depending on the selected system, threadlocking coatings are intended to resist loosening, whereas anti-seize and lubricant coatings are intended to help keep threaded assemblies serviceable and easier to disassemble.
Applications
- Stainless steel and dissimilar-metal assemblies
- High-temperature threaded connections, subject to the selected material
- Fasteners susceptible to galling or seizure
- Components requiring controlled assembly friction
- Threaded assemblies requiring repeated removal
- Industrial and engineering applications
- Automotive, pumps & valves and OEM applications
Anti-Seize Compounds
Anti-seize compounds are applied to threaded fasteners and mating surfaces to help reduce galling, seizure and excessive friction during assembly and disassembly. Depending on the selected formulation and application, they may offer:
- Help reduce galling and seizure
- Help reduce assembly friction
- Support easier future disassembly
- Corrosion protection, depending on the selected material
- Temperature resistance, depending on the selected material
- Compatibility with specific metals and operating environments, subject to evaluation
Lubricant Coatings
Pre-applied lubricant coatings can provide controlled friction directly on fasteners and components with a clean, consistent application. They can be considered for:
- Threaded fasteners
- Dissimilar-metal assemblies
- Precision components
- Automotive and industrial assemblies
- Other components, subject to evaluation (for example thread-forming, press-fit or slip-fit parts)
APET Pre-Application Service
APET applies suitable anti-seize and lubricant materials to customer-supplied fasteners and components. The material and application method are selected according to:
Quality & Traceability
Where required, APET can support the following, according to the agreed specification and customer requirements:
- Coating coverage inspection
- Visual inspection
- Batch identification and traceability
- Process records
- Torque or friction-related testing, as applicable
- Customer-specific inspection requirements, as agreed
- Batch documentation, where agreed with the customer
For the full application and inspection sequence, see Process & Quality.
Performance depends on the selected material, substrate, thread condition, operating temperature and customer specification. Suitability is confirmed by evaluation for each application.
